Background checks can be extremely difficult to find and perform, especially if you're trying to find some incredibly sensitive data about someone.
The fact is that even though all background check services charge a fee for their information, there are some free ways you can find out someone's background just from the power of the Internet.
Indeed, the most powerful way of performing a free background check is to use a site called "Yahoo People Search". If you can see the screenshot below, you can see how if you fill in the person's name on the left hand boxes, you can gain access to the websites which they have published their own personal information:

After typing their personal details (such as their name, state and town), you will then be able to search Yahoo's extensive online database of web sites to reveal any site which has those details on.
Because Yahoo has billions of separate web pages stored in its own data centers, it can take the information you put into it and then search for it in seconds across the entire Internet. This will then reveal all the sites where all of that information is present... detailing the personal details of whoever you want.
Although this is a very powerful way to find out personal information about almost anyone, it is very much a "hit & miss" way to find free background check information.
